This is a story that has caused so much gossip and unfortunately sparked so many wild rumors, but now it seems we finally have the truth about the action taken by Corey Perry. (which led to the termination of his contract with the Chicago Blackhawks)

"It appears that all the details are finally being revealed. A former NHL player and NBC Sports Chicago broadcaster has revealed what he knows about the reasons why Corey Perry was terminated by the Chicago Blackhawks."

Let's remember that Perry had signed a contract last summer earning him 4 million dollars per year with the Blackhawks, a contract that was suddenly terminated several weeks ago due to "inappropriate and unprofessional conduct by Perry" during an evening with employees of the organization.

"Former NHL player John Scott, who started with NBC Sports Chicago in September of last year, said on his podcast Dropping the Gloves that Perry had made advances toward a staff member of the Blackhawks who also worked for NBC Chicago Sports."

This would explain that! He continues!

"Confirmed by current NBC Sports Chicago broadcaster John Scott that Corey Perry «made a mistake in Columbus one night, drank too much and made a pass at a staff member who worked at NBC». If that's all Perry did then it's not a big deal and nobody should be concerned."

This somewhat confirms what Elliotte Friedman mentioned. So it would not be an unforgivable act and it probably would have been "overlooked" by any other team in the league.

However, with the Blackhawks and their past, it's zero tolerance for them.

"If it's another team, he's still on the team, still with them. And he might have just got a little slap on the wrist, maybe a minor fine or suspension."

In short, Perry has turned the page and he is now with the Edmonton Oilers. A fresh start for him.
