25-Year-Old Forward Sadly Passes Away, Canadiens Organization Extends Condolences

A true tragedy has just struck the hockey world, as 25-year-old forward Orca Wiesblatt passed away earlier today.
We are at a loss for words.
The Wiesblatt family is well known in the hockey world as well as in the NHL. Oasiz plays within the Columbus Blue Jackets organization.
Ocean is a defenseman who continues to play professionally.
Ozzy was a 1st-round pick of the San Jose Sharks in 2020 and played five games with the Nashville Predators in 2025.
And Orca was also playing professionally, after a great career in the WHL.

This has sent a huge shockwave through the hockey world, and even the Trois-Rivières Lions (the Montreal Canadiens' ECHL affiliate team) made sure to offer their deepest condolences on behalf of the Canadiens organization.

In his most recent FPHL season, Wiesblatt collected a very solid 42 points in 37 games, including 17 goals.
He was about to earn a well-deserved promotion with the Allen Americans for the 2025-2026 season..
