The general manager of the Montreal Canadiens, Kent Hughes, was very talkative today in an interview.
He notably admitted that he has reached a point where he is ready to "overpay" to acquire the right player for his team..
He also gave a very interesting answer regarding the rumors surrounding Sidney Crosby.

The TVA Sports journalist was very clever in questioning Kent Hughes about Crosby without directly saying his name (to avoid a fine or a tampering penalty for Hughes).
He wasn't allowed to mention Sidney Crosby, but it was obviously clear they were talking about number 87.
In short, Hughes gave an extremely intriguing answer, confirming that he might hold on to some trade assets in case Crosby becomes available for a trade during the season.

The GM also confirmed that this was part of the reasoning behind the trade that sent Carey Price to the San Jose Sharks (to have flexibility and be ready if needed).
"Every time we make a decision, we don't just think about today," added the Canadiens' GM with a sly smile.
