The former scout of the Montreal Canadiens, Grant McCagg, who still has solid sources in the NHL, has just released major information about Kent Hughes.
Here is his exact message:
«This from an NHL source this morning.
"There's a lot of talk that it's going to be either Demidov or Buium at five but it's hard to pin down. The Denver staff thinks he could go as high as 5. They give me the impression that Montreal loves him."
The plot thickens. I think that brings the number of possible players the Canadiens might take at five up to about eight.»
- Grant McCagg
Wow! Obviously, this is the sentence that gets the most reaction:
«There is a lot of talk that it will be either Demidov or Buium at the fifth spot.»
Zeev Buium or Ivan Demidov as the 5th overall pick by Kent Hughes and the Montreal Canadiens? That's what an NHL source thinks
We can't wait to get the answer, and we must be cautious with such statements, but this definitely brings Zeev Buium into the discussion.
Zeev Buium, 18, is a 6-foot-2, 183-pound left-handed defenseman who amassed an incredible 50 points in 42 games this season in the NCAA.
For an 18-year-old defenseman who started the season at 17, that's exceptional! It's a name to remember for sure!
If the Montreal Canadiens were to draft another left-handed defenseman, would you be disappointed?
