We all know now that the Chicago Blackhawks won the lottery and will have the opportunity to select the young prodigy Connor Bedard with the first overall pick in the next NHL Draft. The Canadiens, on the other hand, will speak at the 5th spot and will have the chance to select an excellent player
If the Blackhawks' management and their fans are celebrating this, many are nevertheless shocked by this selection. Indeed, they don't understand how a team that has recently done terrible things, both on and off the ice, can receive such a gift without shame.
In addition to being reprehensible on a human level in recent years, as the two latest tweets unfortunately remind us, the team's hockey management this season has left something to be desired. Even if they won't openly admit it, they definitely put an uncompetitive lineup on the ice with the assured goal of having the best possible chance of drafting Bedard.
Some are even calling for the Blackhawks to lose their first round pick altogether (which will never happen, let's be honest), but take a look at the following post :
The Blackhawks will have succeeded in their gamble to get rid of their good players throughout the season since last year's draft. It is remembered that they traded Alex DeBrincat and Kirby Dach that were two promising young players. They then got rid of Patrick Kane, Jake McCabe, Sam Lafferty, and Anton Khudobin, to name a few, at the last trade deadline.
