In an interview on TNT, phenom Connor Bedard made a big statement about the 2023 NHL Draft.
It says a lot about him and it's all to his credit.
Bedard, who just reached the incredible plateau of 60 goals scored this season (in only 49 games), is absolutely unanimously considered to be the one who will be drafted 1st overall in the upcoming draft.
There is no doubt about it, this is his draft.
But despite all that, Bedard does not consider himself to be the first overall pick in the 2023 draft. He believes that nothing is decided at this point:
"I'm not looking at the NHL rankings at all. I still have to prove myself. There's no guarantee I'm going to be drafted first overall. There's so much hockey to play yet." - Connor Bedard
Interesting too that he doesn't even look at the overall National Hockey League standings, contrary to what we might think.
Clearly, he has the right attitude! We love it!
