This morning, for the Winnipeg Jets' morning skate, forward Sean Monahan was absent and was replaced by the young Rasmus Kupari on the second line.
This raised concerns among his new fans, but in the last few minutes, the Manitoba organization has confirmed that Monahan will indeed play tonight! He may be experiencing some discomfort, but he will play!
This will be his very first game with the Jets, and we are eager to see it.
"Rick Bowness says Monahan is fine and will play tonight." - Mitchell Clinton, Winnipeg journalist
Here are the official lines for the Jets:
"Connor-Scheifele-Vilardi
Perfetti-Kupari-Ehlers
Niederreiter-Lowry-Appleton
Barron-Namestnikov-Iafallo"
Monahan will replace Kupari and will be on the Jets' 2nd line, alongside
Cole Perfetti and
Nikolaj Ehlers. This could be a very dangerous and productive line.
Monahan, 29, acquired from the Montreal Canadiens for a 1st round pick and a conditional 3rd round pick, has 35 points in 49 games this season (13 goals).
Perfetti, 22, has 30 points in 47 games, and Nikolaj Ehlers has so far amassed 35 points in 47 games.
