The Maple Leafs versus Bruins series was one of the most dynamic to watch in the first round of playoffs. Yet, even after a tragic game seven loss, Toronto could not avoid catching strays when they were absolutely roasted by Panthers forward Matthew Tkachuk.
The Toronto Maple Leafs have been vying for the Stanley Cup since their last win in 1967. Yet, they proved once again they could not break a multi-generational curse, as they choked in game seven overtime against the Boston Bruins after David Pastrnak made the game-winning goal.
However, Toronto's parade of shame through the media cycle did not stop at the fans. Forward and alternate captain for the Florida Panthers, Matthew Tkachuk, roasted the team in an interview about the inevitable round-two matchup against Boston.
The Toronto Maple Leafs have to continue working and making changes if they want a better chance next season. For the Boston Bruins, they are heading to Florida's Amerant Bank arena to start their second-round matchup against the Panthers. If they want a chance at beating this division-winner, they will need to play better than their first seven games.
