Sheldon Keefe mentioned to the media today that he will not provide an update on William Nylander's status after he missed game one last night versus the Boston Bruins but it appears his teammates didn't get the memo as they spoke on Nylander today in the post game presser.
In a tweet by David Alter, Nylander's teammate Jake McCabe provided an update on number 88.
"McCabe re Nylander: He seemed to be in good spirits today. Not going to speak too much on it."
Ryan Reaves provided one aswell:
"Ryan Reaves on William Nylander: I don't know what his status is, hopefully he's ready to go."
William Nylander was also amongst the Leafs scratches today in their optional skate, it was the first time he was seen since his injury. Nylander spotted at practice
William Nylander was among the leafs who took part in a highly optional skate in Boston this afternoon. It's the first time he's been spotted on the ice since Wednesday's game in Tampa.
The Maple Leafs looked like they could've used William Nylander last night in their 5-1 loss to the Bruins to open up round one with the sole goal being depth forward David Kampf.
The Maple Leafs big dogs will have to step up for the remainder of the series if they want to have any chance of beating the powerhouse Boston Bruins with hot goaltender Jeremy Swayman.
And in a captivating update, insider Jordan Schmaltz just shared a tweet that hints at Nylander's anticipated return. Could this mean Nylander is on the cusp of a comeback? Let's dive in.
