Montreal Canadiens player leaves and signs new contract with the Seattle Kraken
A forward from the Montreal Canadiens organization has indeed left to join the Seattle Kraken.
This move went largely unnoticed amidst numerous major announcements in the last few hours, but
Mitchell Stephens is moving from the Canadiens to the Kraken.
It's official, and his time in Montreal is over.

This is a two-year contract worth $775,000 per year. (valid until 2026)
Mitchell Stephens, 27, is a 6-foot, 203-pound forward, drafted 33rd overall by the Tampa Bay Lightning in 2015.
He accumulated a solid 35 points in 49 games with the Laval Rocket this season, and he also played 23 games with the Montreal Canadiens in 2024.

This will be a great opportunity for him to try to break into the Kraken lineup, or else join one of the best teams in the entire American Hockey League, in Coachella Valley.
