Marc-André Fleury talks to his posts in both languages and the video ignites the web
As we all know, goalies are a strange breed. They have even more traditions and beliefs than other players on a team. The excellent Quebecois goaltender Marc-Andre Fleury is no exception.
A recently published video on social media is sure to make people laugh and talk. It shows the goalie speaking and thanking his posts. Even better, he does it in both languages!
The reason for these bilingual thanks is even funnier than the gesture itself. According to Allan Walsh, Fleury's colorful agent, the Quebecois doesn't want to offend his posts and their origin:
"I asked Flower why he talks to his goal posts in 2 languages. His response: 'I never know if the steel comes from Quebec or the US. I prefer to be polite and not take any chances.'"
It's simply perfect, just like Fleury himself!
We want more microphones on the veteran goalie because he always gives excellent comments. It was during this same game that Fleury tried to drop the gloves against Blues goalie Jordan Binnington. His mic caught all the words he directed to the opposing goalie and the referees. It's magical once again:
The remark about his hair at the end of the sequence is just perfect!
Simply because we love Fleury's attitude, here's a little extra captured when he played for the Chicago Blackhawks.
He has a way of putting a smile on our faces!
