The young Philadelphia Flyers forward, Matvei Michkov, has already received a clear warning from his boss.
In an interview with the excellent Mathias Brunet of La Presse, Flyers General Manager Daniel Brière had several positive things to say about young Michkov, who seems to be adapting well to his new environment.
Despite things going well for Michkov right now, Daniel Brière is fully aware that his young prodigy comes with a number of red flags.

Michkov, who is extremely talented but has been involved in stories highlighting his sometimes negative attitude, will not be allowed such misconduct under a head coach like John Tortorella.
Michkov has been warned. Such behavior will be completely unacceptable with the Flyers.
«When he reacts poorly to teammates, it might be because those players aren't competing as hard as he is. When you're young, you may not know how to handle that. Maybe he didn't do it the right way. But if it happens here, it won't be tolerated.»

It's safe to say that the relationship between Matvei Michkov and John Tortorella will be a very interesting one to follow in the coming weeks, starting with the Flyers' 2024 training camp.
Michkov, 19 years old, was the 7th overall pick in the 2023 NHL Draft. He tallied a solid 41 points in 47 games last season in the KHL.
The 5-foot-10, 150-pound forward is now turning his attention to the NHL.
