I won't be telling you anything new by saying that a big rumor is currently circulating about Patrick Roy. Some sources believe that his time with the New York Islanders might be coming to an end.
Almost 100% of the time, when a new GM takes over, he wants to bring in his own head coach (just like Kent Hughes did, and like many others have).
In short, many rumors are currently swirling about Patrick Roy's future in the NHL and with the New York Islanders.
"He could possibly have a new job as early as next season, elsewhere in the NHL, especially since he did a good job with the Islanders."
The decision is now in the hands of Mathieu Darche, and as long as he hasn't made it, there will be rumors and speculation.
Patrick Roy was spotted in Quebec in the past few hours
Speaking of Roy, know that he was indeed seen in Rimouski in the past few hours.
Of course, let's not forget that last night, the 2025 Memorial Cup kicked off in Rimouski, so that explains his presence.
No, Roy's beard didn't take long to reappear after Lou Lamoriello's departure from Long Island.
"Let's also remember that, in all of this, Patrick Roy isn't guaranteed to keep his job as head coach of the Islanders for next season. Several rumors have suggested he'll be replaced."

With all that in mind, it's interesting to see that Roy was actually working on behalf of the New York Islanders last night, which could possibly put some of these rumors to rest.
A story to keep an eye on!
