We now know the meaning behind Jacob Fowler's subtle gesture toward the stands after the Canadiens' win
Marc Denis pointed it out on the RDS broadcast Thursday night, but the young Montreal Canadiens goaltender, Jacob Fowler, made a small special gesture after the game.
As soon as the game in Pittsburgh ended, Fowler was seen making a small gesture (a quick glance) to his right.
Marc Denis's explanation clarifies exactly why.
Jacob Fowler shared a beautiful look toward his mother and his family following his very first NHL victory
"A look toward his family, who are sitting, from Jacob Fowler's point of view, to his right, about five or six rows up behind the glass, at the top of the corner, let's put it that way.
But the Canadiens players can celebrate, it's a win. [...]
In Fowler's case, everything we wanted to see from him in his first NHL game, we saw."
- Marc Denis, on the RDS broadcast, who notably praised Jacob Fowler's calm and poise

We love it! What a great story.
Speaking of Jacob Fowler, following the game it was initially reported that he made 33 saves on 35 shots. However, the NHL later issued a correction, crediting Fowler with three additional saves. Officially, the young goaltender finished with 36 saves on 38 shots.
Following the game, the team celebrated in the locker room as Martin St-Louis honored Jacob Fowler with a game puck for his first NHL win. He was also awarded with the victory Wolf Head.
We're already looking forward to what's next for Fowler.
