Two trades have just been announced, the day after the game between the Montreal Canadiens and the Pittsburgh Penguins.

It's an interesting trade for Montreal Canadiens fans, for several reasons.
1- First of all because a former Hab is involved.
2- Because it confirms that we saw Tristan Jarry's last game with the Penguins last night, and that final game was precisely against the Habs.
3- With this trade, the Montreal Canadiens could once again face goaltender Tristan Jarry as early as this Sunday (so in a few hours), but this time with him in goal for the Edmonton Oilers.
4- This trade also seems to eliminate the possibility of seeing Samuel Montembeault traded to Edmonton.

Tristan Jarry traded to the Edmonton Oilers and Spencer Stastney also traded to the Oilers

The Alberta team therefore completed two trades within minutes.
The first was made with the Nashville Predators, as the Oilers sent a third-round pick in the 2027 draft in exchange for defenseman Spencer Stastney.
And secondly, the second is the well-known trade for goaltender Tristan Jarry.
"Here is the trade completed between Edmonton and Pittsburgh:

Tristan Jarry and Sam Poulin to Edmonton

Brett Kulak, Stuart Skinner and a 2029 2nd-round pick to Pittsburgh."

- Elliotte Friedman
Former Canadien Brett Kulak is also part of the deal, heading to Pittsburgh after several seasons in Edmonton. He was traded from Montreal to Edmonton in 2022 for two draft picks. It's also worth remembering that one of those picks later became Lane Hutson.
Details to follow.
