We told you about it yesterday afternoon, but it's truly disappointing to see that Nick Suzuki finished 13th in the Selke Trophy voting.
Aleksander Barkov absolutely deserved to win the trophy, but Suzuki deserved much better than just 13th place.
Especially considering he finished the 2024-2025 season with a positive plus-minus of +19 (!) while constantly playing against opponents' top players, logging heavy minutes, and doing so on a rebuilding team with a very inexperienced defensive corps.
Still, that's the verdict that was announced.
Here are the only three journalists and broadcasters who voted for Nick Suzuki for the Selke Trophy - including one name well known to Canadiens fans
We've just learned some interesting news.
As reported by the page HabsOnReddit, here are the more specific results, with names:
"People who gave Habs captain Nick Suzuki 3rd place votes for the Selke Trophy:
- The Montreal Gazette's Stu Cowan
- ESPN's PK Subban "
Wow! PK Subban and Stu Cowan were the only journalists/broadcasters across the NHL to give Canadiens captain Nick Suzuki a 3rd-place vote for the Selke Trophy.
Here's the one who gave the Canadiens captain a 2nd-place vote:
"Shout out to TSN's Craig Button for being the only person to give Habs captain Nick Suzuki a 2nd place vote for the Selke Trophy." - HabsOnReddit
Craig Button ranked him even higher, and we love to see it!
And what about you, do you think Nick Suzuki deserved better than 13th place?
