Four young players from the Montreal Canadiens organization are unfortunately threatened with leaving the team, a big decision for Kent Hughes and Jeff Gorton.

If they still haven't been signed at this time, it shouldn't change in the next few hours, and we imagine that Kent Hughes has made his decision, but there is one exception.

Jared Davidson, Petteri Nurmi, Cédrick Guindon, and Miguel Tourigny on their way out? Their rights will expire in a few hours

This is a big story to watch this week with the Montreal Canadiens, during this quiet week, but it's still three prospects who could leave the ship as early as this Saturday.
Departures that would be significant, especially in the case of Davidson (who is precisely the exception mentioned above).
«The Canadiens have until this Saturday at 17:00 to sign an entry-level contract with their prospects Jared Davidson, Cedrick Guindon, Miguel Tourigny, and Petteri Nurmi; otherwise, they will lose their rights.

Davidson might sign, but for the others, I'm not holding my breath!»

This is the reality of the summer season in hockey. There are acquisitions, but obviously, departures as well.
Kent Hughes and Jeff Gorton will therefore have to decide in the next few hours whether or not to offer a contract to these four young players in the organization.
It should be remembered that each club has a limit of 50 contracts, which forces teams to make choices like the ones Kent Hughes is currently facing.
It must not be easy to let go of a prospect you drafted and carefully selected during their eligibility year.
Note that the Canadiens currently have 39 contracts, not counting those of Arber Xhekaj and Justin Barron.
A file to follow.
Jared Davidson, 21 years old, center, scored 16 points in 38 games with the Laval Rocket.
Cédrick Guindon, 20 years old, center, scored 57 points in 68 games in the OHL.
Miguel Tourigny, 22 years old, right defenseman, scored 38 points in 61 games with the Trois-Rivières Lions.
Petteri Nurmi, 22 years old, left defenseman, scored 16 points in 60 games in the SM_Liiga, Finland's top professional league.
