St-Louis explains Fowler's recall as the Habs keep the young goalie away from reporters
It was a busy day for the Montreal Canadiens. Following a brutal loss to the Tampa Bay Lightning at the Bell Centre, the organization found itself under pressure to respond.
And with the recall of young goaltender Jacob Fowler, several new situations suddenly demanded attention.
First, please note that the media were summoned for a press conference, notably with head coach Martin St-Louis.
During this press availability, Martin St-Louis delivered several messages, particularly regarding his new young goaltender.
Martin St-Louis when asked if it's safe to assume Jacob Fowler will play in 1 of the team's upcoming 3 games this week:
"I mean, he's going to be on the trip so we're going to have the options and we're going to talk about it."

He also insisted that he was part of the decision-making process to recall Jacob Fowler and that the latter is not coming to Montreal to be a saviour.
"Martin St-Louis said calling up Jacob Fowler is something he, Kent Hughes and Jeff Gorton have been talking about"

It was certainly a press availability that sparked a lot of discussion.
"To me, St-Louis' media availability this morning was a PR move to get two messages out: Collective play is to blame for the Canadiens' predicament (meaning the goalies play isn't the main reason for Fowler's call up and he's not coming as a saviour."

That said, there is another element generating a lot of reactions.
The Montreal Canadiens refuse to make Jacob Fowler available to answer reporters' questions and to participate in today's press conference
This is interesting.
"Canadiens wouldn't make goalie Jacob Fowler available to the media after practice in Brossard following his call-up from Laval Rocket last night."

One thing is certain, we are eager to see if he will be between the pipes against the Pittsburgh Penguins.
