Canadiens recall three players, including goaltender Jacob Fowler, after 6-1 loss to Lightning

Immediately following the embarrassing loss by the Habs against the Tampa Bay Lightning, and another very difficult game for goaltenders Jakub Dobes and Samuel Montembeault, Kent Hughes has decided to make a move.

And you can be certain that Fowler was not recalled just to warm the bench for his team!

I absolutely expect him to get his first career start in the National Hockey League as early as this week!

Earlier today, TSN's Mike Johnson mentioned that it was a real possibility we could see Jacob Fowler with the Canadiens soon and it's now confirmed.

Jacob Fowler is arriving as reinforcement for the Montreal Canadiens!

Fowler, 21 years old, is a 6-foot-2, 213-pound goaltender who has a 10-5-0 record this season with the Laval Rocket, along with a goals-against average of 2.09 and a save percentage of 0.919.

He has been incredible for Pascal Vincent's squad this season.

Otherwise, the other option was veteran Kaapo Kahkonen.

Kahkonen, 29 years old, is a 6-foot-2, 214-pound goaltender who has a 6-2-0 record this season with the Laval Rocket, along with a goals-against average of 2.81 and a save percentage of 0.895.

One thing is certain, it's quite a surprise! It really does look like a shock move from Kent Hughes.

We also remind you that young defenseman Adam Engstrom and centerman Owen Beck were recalled earlier this season, but the big news here is certainly the recall of goaltender Jacob Fowler.
