The Montreal Canadiens have announced that Jake Evans is away from the team for personal reasons, but several insiders are now reporting that he may actually be dealing with a foot injury. This added layer of uncertainty helps explain the recall of young Owen Beck.
Unfortunately for Evans, if we rely on the following post from the excellent Marco D'Amico, it really doesn't look good.
"Jake Evans has a lower-body injury to his foot and is getting another opinion in Philly.
Owen Beck call-up could be a long-term one."
Owen Beck call-up could be a long-term one."
So things are not looking good for Evans, but what's unusual is that the Montreal Canadiens are officially referring here to "personal reasons" in their statement:
"Forward Jake Evans is away from the team for personal reasons. He will join the team in New York."

So the situation remains very unclear, but in any case, the news isn't very good.
Jake Evans leaves the team for personal reasons, for now!
According to what the excellent Priyanta Emrith mentions, everything indicates that Owen Beck will replace him and will be in uniform for the game against the Pittsburgh Penguins.
Owen Beck IN / Jake Evans OUT is one Habs line-up change for Thursday's game vs. the Pens we know for sure.

Let's just hope everything goes well for Evans.
