As reported by the excellent Charles-Alexis Brisebois, Mailloux will definitely be a name to keep an eye on over the next 2-3 weeks with the Habs, as he has a real chance to establish himself as a regular NHL defenseman this season.
Especially now that Jordan Harris and Johnathan Kovacevic have been traded, the opportunity is there for Mailloux.
However, we had a strange revelation this morning when journalist Renaud Lavoie (TVA Sports) revealed that many experts do not believe in Logan Mailloux at all.
Renaud heard from several well-informed individuals that, when it comes to Mailloux, «you have to forget about it,» and he will never be able to play in the NHL.
Wow.
Personally, I disagree and absolutely believe that Mailloux has a real chance to become an impact defenseman in the NHL. However, it's quite surprising to see scouts, true experts, already willing to say that it's over for Mailloux (who is only 21 years old).
Indeed, we wonder what such statements may be hiding.
We're talking about Logan Mailloux here, but in general, I always find it a bit ridiculous to give up on a 21-year-old player, especially one who has dominated everywhere he's played.
In any case, hopefully, this can serve as extra motivation for the very talented Mailloux.
