We just witnessed a frightening scene live from Brossard involving Canadiens youngsters Kirby Dach and Arber Xhekaj.

Today's session nearly turned into a disaster for Kirby Dach, who took a violent hit to the knees.
See the footage:
It was obviously accidental, but it was clear that it really got into Kirby's head.
He was scared (and it truly was scary), but it also shows that the big center still needs to learn how to better protect himself.

A first major test for Kirby Dach's knees

The good news is that the impact doesn't seem to have caused too much damage.
Still, we'll be keeping an eye out for updates regarding Dach's health.
As for him, it's worth mentioning that today's little intra-squad scrimmage was his very first of camp, as he had been replaced by Oliver Kapanen yesterday.
So we'll likely see Dach back in action soon, if his knee allows it, of course. Let's just say things started off rather abruptly and frighteningly for him.
Dach, 24, is a big 6'4", 221-pound center who was the third overall pick of the Chicago Blackhawks in 2019.
He collected 22 points in 57 games last season, 2 points in 2 games in 2023-2024, and 38 points in 58 games in 2022-2023.
More details to come..
