Canadiens Make Quick Change Involving Kirby Dach on Day 2 of Training Camp

Kirby Dach has just been moved to Group B.

He is therefore no longer in the same group as Ivan Demidov and Patrik Laine (the second line), which raises a few questions, but let's wait to see what happens next before drawing any drastic conclusions.

As of the latest news, Martin St. Louis was still mentioning that Kirby Dach is his second-line center, until proven otherwise.

Here's the Canadiens' official confirmation on the matter:

Dach is now indeed in the same group as Josh Anderson, Zachary Bolduc, Owen Beck, Alex Newhook, Brendan Gallagher, Jake Evans, and company.

I'm really looking forward to seeing who will be the center for Patrik Laine and Ivan Demidov during today's scramble.

Among the plausible candidates are Oliver Kapanen and Joe Veleno, but we'll have the answer a bit later today.

We had mentioned that the lines would likely change during camp, and here is already proof.

I still think Kirby Dach will start the season as the second-line center despite everything, but it will still be interesting to see other combinations (as we will see this morning).
