Salt Lake City Police Announce Update on Emil Heineman's Accident as Investigation Is Launched
We have an update regarding the car accident reported this morning involving Montreal Canadiens forward Emil Heineman.
The Salt Lake City police have just released an official statement, announcing that an investigation has been opened regarding the unfortunate incident.

At 2:55 p.m. on Monday, January 13, 2025, SLC911 dispatch received information about a car crash involving a pedestrian near 200 East 500 South in Salt Lake City.
Salt Lake City police officers responded and began an initial investigation. Officers checked the area for the initial person who made the report, a passerby, and the pedestrian involved but officers could not locate either.
Later in the evening, officers received information from a nearby business, which reported having information likely associated with the crash. Officers learned the pedestrian was a Montreal Canadiens hockey team player.
The team identified the pedestrian as Emil Heineman and did not show any signs of serious injuries and was being attended to by team doctors.
SLCPD officers identified all parties involved in the crash.
The Utah Highway Patrol is investigating the crash.
The SLCPD cannot release any additional details.

In any case, we wish young Heineman a speedy recovery, and we're very glad it wasn't worse. We're already looking forward to seeing him back in uniform.
He was having quite the rookie season before having to put it on pause.
Heineman, 23 years old, has amassed a solid 17 points, including 10 goals, in 41 games this season with the Canadiens.
