NHL Announces Change to Patrik Laine's Goal vs Ducks, Leaving Fans Disappointed
The National Hockey League has indeed made a change to the first goal scored by the Montreal Canadiens tonight, which was credited to Patrik Laine.
For the goal, an assist had been awarded to
Lane Hutson, which allowed him to climb to 15th place among the top-scoring defensemen in the NHL, and break a team record with the Canadiens.
In short, they have now decided to put all of this on hold.
At least, at the time of writing this.
An assist is now given to Cole Caufield and removed from Lane Hutson, on the goal scored by Patrik Laine tonight
It's only a matter of time for Lane Hutson.
It seems they finally credited the assist to Caufield.
No worries, Hutson will get another one later!
The goal now reads as follows:

Nick Suzuki and Cole Caufield.

The Canadiens are currently facing the Ducks (10-12-3) live from the Bell Centre, and it's a matchup between the 29th and 30th positions in the overall NHL standings.
The visitors are without the services of the excellent young forward
Trevor Zegras (injury), but they can count on their new acquisition,
Jacob Trouba. (acquired via trade)
After a closer look, The NHL has now changed it back again and gave Lane Hutson the assist on Patrik Laine's goal.
After taking it away, the assist on Patrik Laine's goal has been credited back to Lane Hutson.
Now it's official. He becomes the first rookie in Canadiens history to record at least one point in seven consecutive games. He's now up to 19 assists.
He has now assisted on all three of Patty's goals.
