We have some interesting developments with the Montreal Canadiens, live from the Bell Centre, on this game day.
This has just been confirmed by the excellent journalist Guillaume Lefrançois.
"Optional practice for the Canadiens this morning. Jake Evans, Patrik Laine, and Kaiden Guhle, who were absent for treatments yesterday, are not on the ice.
Other absentees: Gallagher, Anderson, Newhook, Dobson."
- Guillaume Lefrançois, La Presse
Another interesting point: Martin St-Louis made the (risky, according to some) decision to hold ANOTHER optional practice today.
Clearly, the Canadiens' head coach really wants to prioritize his players' rest, even though the season is still very young.
Martin St-Louis decides to cancel another on-ice practice
This is quite different from what we usually see with other teams around the NHL, but let's trust Martin on this one!
This strategy paid off at the end of last season.
Of course, let's remember that the Montreal Canadiens will be hosting the Nashville Predators tonight starting at 7:00 PM, live from the Bell Centre!
Update: the Habs players clearly took Martin St-Louis's decision seriously, since practice was scheduled for 10:30 AM
And at 10:40 - yes, 10:40 - everyone had already left the ice and it was all over.. Wow!
