The Montreal Canadiens' 2025 training camp is quickly approaching, and already, we have some big storylines to watch.

The most interesting battle will likely be on defense, as there is only one spot available for David Reinbacher, Jayden Struble, and Arber Xhekaj.
That said, there's a rumor circulating more and more..
What if Martin St-Louis found a way to keep Arber Xhekaj in the lineup for all 82 games?
You can see where this is going.. Yes, we're once again talking about the possibility of seeing Arber Xhekaj being used as a forward on the fourth line.

Arber and Florian Xhekaj on the Montreal Canadiens' fourth line?

It's a possibility that's gaining more traction!
During a recent appearance on Tony Marinaro's Sick Podcast, Brian Wilde also revisited an idea that has already made waves here.
"I would seriously consider the idea of playing Arber Xhekaj on the wing in the NHL."
- Brian Wilde
As Félix Forget from DLC points out, the Canadiens may have a much greater need up front than on defense, especially in terms of depth.
Imagine seeing a line made up of Arber and Florian Xhekaj with the big club.
It would be incredible to see, especially in the playoffs, and everything suggests it's an idea Martin St-Louis is increasingly considering as the 2025 training camp approaches.
At the very least, don't be surprised if the experiment is attempted during a preseason game in September.
Personally, I don't see how it would be harmful to try it in a preseason game.
