At a press conference in the last few minutes, Kent Hughes and Jeff Gorton made a major announcement about Martin St-Louis.

It's fantastic that this was announced so early and so quickly, because it puts an end to questions in this matter.
This settles the matter.
Just yesterday, only a few minutes after the end of the Canadiens' season, journalists began talking to Martin St-Louis about his contract and his future with the organization.
Hughes and Gorton thus quickly resolved this, before it became a distraction and a redundant topic.
