As Alex Jodoin points out, Demidov's season with SKA is now over, and when you look at the absolutely incredible numbers, it's safe to say the Canadiens added one heck of a hockey player with their
5th overall pick in the 2024 draft.
"Ivan's season in the KHL is now done.
He finished the year with 49P (19G and 30A) in 65 games. He broke the record for most points by a U20 while having some questionable ice time for the big majority of the season.
Now there's only the playoffs left. (And maybe MHL playoffs apparently)
He's almost home."
We're really excited to see what's next, and we're also eager to see Demidov in a Montreal Canadiens uniform-it truly feels like it's getting closer.
A historic season for Ivan Demidov in the KHL
After such an exceptional campaign, it will be very interesting to see what awaits him in the playoffs, especially since he found success against Dynamo Moscow.
Let's remember that Ivan Demidov's contract with SKA is valid until May 31, and after that, the talented young forward will be free to sign a deal with Kent Hughes and the Montreal Canadiens.
