Believe it or not, the 2024-2025 NHL regular season is already truly coming to an end.
We're down to the final stretch of this incredible playoff race in the East, and with that, let's take a look at the current situation as of today, following last night's games.
One Good and One Not-So-Good Piece of News for Montreal Canadiens Fans
Let's start with the positive.
The good news is that some of the Canadiens' rivals have officially been eliminated from playoff contention.
It's over for the New York Rangers:

The bad news is that with two consecutive losses, the Canadiens are opening the door for the red-hot Columbus Blue Jackets, who are facing a Washington Capitals team that will once again rest some of its players.
