To summarize, Matthew Tkachuk missed yesterday's game (lower-body injury), and Brady Tkachuk didn't finish the game either after crashing into the net.
In addition to the Tkachuk brothers, there's star forward Auston Matthews (back injury), who didn't play yesterday's game, forward Vincent Trocheck, who is dealing with discomfort, and defenseman Charlie McAvoy, who was taken to the hospital.
In short, there are numerous injuries on the American side.
At the start of the tournament, Canada was able to call up defenseman Thomas Harley as reinforcements after defenseman Shea Theodore suffered an injury (and due to Cale Makar falling ill).
Now that Team USA has also been hit hard by injuries, could they call up new players as reinforcements?
This possibility was raised by TVA Sports journalist Renaud Lavoie earlier today.
This will be something to keep an eye on, especially if the Tkachuk brothers and Matthews are officially ruled out for Thursday night's game.
Additionally, here's something to note about Caufield, which seems to suggest that he could actually be called up (if a call-up does happen, of course).
