Brendan Gallagher, who has not missed a game since his mother's passing, says hockey is his refuge, and he knows his mother would want to feel comforted right now:
"When I'm on the ice, it's kind of like it goes away.. it's kind of what has helped me get through this."
Brendan Gallagher on his emotions after scoring on Tuesday:
"It hit me right away, even though it was an empty-net goal; it was the first time the puck went into the net, and I wasn't going to be able to call [my mother] and talk to her about it, it was a bit emotional..."
