As reported by TVA Sports journalist Anthony Martineau, the Montreal Canadiens broke an NHL rule with Jacob Fowler.

We told you about it this Wednesday morning, but following Fowler's first practice with the Canadiens, the organization refused to make him available to answer reporters' questions.
As Anthony Martineau mentioned, and as Marco Normandin also reported today (via HABSolumentFan), this violates an NHL regulation.

The Montreal Canadiens broke an NHL rule yesterday by refusing to make Jacob Fowler available to the media

See the essential part of his explanation here.
"It's not that we didn't try.

We made our usual request to the organization and, ultimately, we were told no.

Why? We don't yet know if Jacob Fowler will take part in a game with the Canadiens.

That's the justification provided by the Habs, and we replied: well, isn't there a league media policy that obligates each club to make players available when they practice?

I asked people who are well-informed. Normally, a guy who takes part in a practice must speak to the media if the request is made.

I'm not saying the Canadiens are the only ones who do this, by the way.

Is it the first time this happens? No. Is it the last? No."

The Canadiens face the Penguins in Pittsburgh tonight, with puck drop set for 7:00 p.m. We will keep you updated on the lines and on whether Jacob Fowler will be making his much-anticipated NHL debut.
