The Montreal Canadiens have just announced bad news regarding defenseman David Reinbacher.

His training camp is over, and he will miss four weeks of action due to a fractured metacarpal bone.
Once again, he'll be starting the season behind his teammates.. It's really unfortunate for his development, which keeps getting derailed by injuries.

Bad News for David Reinbacher and the Montreal Canadiens

Here is the official statement from the Canadiens:
"Defenseman David Reinbacher (broken metacarpal bone) will be out for four weeks."
- Montreal Canadiens
We're talking about a hand bone here, so fortunately it's not related to his knee.
Still, this is a tough blow for the young Reinbacher, who just can't seem to get going.
As Marc-Olivier Beaudoin notes, this should cause him to miss around seven games with the Laval Rocket (and a large part of training camp).
We'll get back to you with details and the impacts on the Canadiens' current camp.
David Reinbacher, 20, is a right-handed defenseman, standing 6'3" and weighing 207 pounds, selected 5th overall by the Canadiens in 2023 (1st round).
He recorded 5 points in 10 games with the Laval Rocket last season in the AHL, and he's aiming to earn a spot in the NHL this year with Montreal.
Hopefully, this extended absence will be his last of the season, as the young player clearly needs to play hockey games if he wants to develop into an impact player in the NHL one day.
More details to follow.
