BREAKING: Bad News at Canadiens Practice as Young Defenseman is Absent
A player is missing from the lineup this morning at the Montreal Canadiens' practice, and it's a young defenseman.
See the official announcement from the club:
"Defenseman Jayden Struble will not participate in this morning's practice (treatment day)." - Montreal Canadiens
This does not bode well for his presence in the lineup tonight against the struggling Arizona Coyotes, but let's wait and see because he was practicing like a regular yesterday.
Is this an unexpected issue, or just a precautionary morning off? The answer in a few minutes at MSL's press conference.
Speaking of the defensive pairs yesterday, let's recall this for
Arber Xhekaj:
Struble, 22, is a 46th overall pick in 2019 and has accumulated seven points in 39 games this season with the CH. (39 penalty minutes and a +1 differential)
With the Laval Rocket, he had collected six points in 12 games, with 29 penalty minutes.
Martin St. Louis has now confirmed that Jayden Struble will not play tonight. While a long-term injury has been avoided, he will still miss tonight's game, and possibly a few more.
