A young forward has indeed officially left the Montreal Canadiens organization.
The Laval Rocket have just announced that forward Riley McKay will not be returning to the organization, as he has just signed a one-year deal with the Vegas Golden Knights organization.

He was one of the toughest players in the organization, a true enforcer, and he is the second similar player to leave Montreal.
He will be greatly appreciated by the young players in the Golden Knights organization.
John Parker-Jones and Riley McKay are thus leaving the Montreal Canadiens' ranks, two players who never hesitated to drop the gloves to defend their young teammates.
McKay, 25 years old, is a 6-foot, 203-pound forward who accumulated 123 penalty minutes in 2016-17 in the WHL, 152 penalty minutes in 2017-18 in the WHL, 149 penalty minutes in 2018-19, and 93 penalty minutes in 2019-20 in the same league. (87 points in total)
With the Laval Rocket, he tallied 10 points and 148 penalty minutes last season, as well as 7 points and 118 penalty minutes in 2022-23. (in 69 total games)
