The Jeff Petry file has been quite mysterious for the past few days, especially since reliable sources confirmed that the CH organization was seriously considering the possibility of ending the season of the veteran defenseman, in order to allow him to return to the United States with his family.
As reported by the excellent Marc-André Perreault of TVA Sports, Petry is going to Brossard every morning for treatment. He really wants to get back to the game quickly and, for now, there is no question of him returning home (to Michigan) to his wife and children.
If his health deteriorates too much and if he realizes that he will not be able to return to the game this season, he can consider the option of returning to Michigan. But right now, it's going well.
Basically, don't think Petry has given up on the team, he is doing everything in his power to heal. So it's true that the option of returning to the United States before the end of the season is on the table, but not seriously considered at this time.
