A few years ago, David became an uncompensated free agent and was free to sign with the team of his choice. He finally settled with the St. Louis Blues, who offered him a two-year contract, at the expense of the Habs who offered him a one-season deal.
With a return to the free agent market this summer, many Montreal fans were hoping that the Quebecer would finally choose the CH as his next destination. The change of management and finally wearing the club's jersey could encourage Perron to make their wishes come true.
However, according to Elliotte Friedman, it seems that Perron likes it in St. Louis and would like to continue the adventure in this city. That's without counting the fact that the Blues also want to keep the services of the forward, who has experienced, let's say, all the playoffs.
Nothing is done yet, but it seems, according to this information, that Perron will not wear a new jersey next season.
In 67 games this season, the 34 year old veteran has accumulated 27 goals and 30 assists for a total of 57 points. He was particularly effective in the playoffs with 13 points, including 9 goals, in 12 games.
