The real reason for the demotion of Rafael Harvey-Pinard has just been revealed by head coach Martin St-Louis
As we mentioned this morning, Montreal Canadiens head coach Martin St-Louis sparked a lot of reactions by completely changing his lines today.
The decision that caused the most reaction was certainly the demotion of Quebecer
Rafael Harvey-Pinard to the third line.
"RHP" is indeed separated from
Nick Suzuki, after a small sequence of three games without collecting any points.
In a press conference in the last few minutes, St-Louis explained his decision:
"It's not because Rafael Harvey-Pinard or
Jesse Ylonen are not capable of doing the job and it's not because Denis Gurianov and Rem Pitlick have been incredible... It's just a small change to try to score more goals."
Martin St. Louis
Interesting... So there wouldn't be a specific reason.
Anyway, it will be interesting to see the result tonight.
Reminder of the new lines:
"Pitlick-Suzuki-Gurianov
Hoffman-Drouin-Anderson
RHP-Tierney-Ylonen
Pezzetta-Richard-Belzile"
RHP, 24, has 12 points in 22 games this season. (8 goals)
As you can see, Suzuki is now paired with Rem Pitlick and Denis Gurianov. Do you like these changes?
