Immediately after their elimination at the hands of the Tampa Bay Lightning, the New York Rangers surprised many experts and announced the signing of Russian forward Vitali Kravtsov

While some were reporting that Kravtsov didn't want to get along with the Rangers, they signed a one-season contract together.

The deal will pay Kravtsov $875,000, we're talking about a one-way pact here.

In 19 games in the KHL this season, Kravtsov has 13 points and 6 goals.

Recall that he left the Rangers, to return to the KHL, earlier this season because he didn't make the team this year and GM Chris Drury wanted to see him play in the AHL.

Kravtsov never wanted to go to the minors.

Kravtsov, 22, is a first-round pick, selected ninth overall in 2018 by one Jeff Gorton (he has 4 points and 2 goals, in 20 career NHL games).

Did he sign, only to be traded by New York? It's possible, but it's still a nice turnaround for Rangers fans and definitely good news.

It increases his value.

More details to come!
