After Juraj Slafkovsky yesterday, tonight it's Shane Wright's turn to play his very first National Hockey League preseason game as the Seattle Kraken take on the Calgary Flames.
Despite some criticism from the Seattle media, particularly because of Wright's attitude, the Kraken organization made the decision to put their fourth overall pick in the best possible position to be successful.
Despite Wright's alleged "temper tantrums with AHL coaches," instead of punishing him, his new bosses are offering him a golden opportunity.
Tonight, Wright will make his debut in a Kraken uniform on his team's top three, alongside
Jaden Schwartz and
Jordan Eberle, Seattle's top two wingers in 2021-22.
Not only will he be surrounded by a great group of players, but his head coach will be handing him the keys to the first power play.
"Tonight's first PP unit will feature Shane Wright, Jordan Eberle,
Jared McCann, Jaden Schwartz and
Vince Dunn. With Wright at quarterback."
