It's been an extremely eventful few hours in the hockey world as hundreds of players have changed their address and left their organization to join a new one as part of the opening day of the NHL's free agent market.
This is notably the case for a few players in the CH organization, including Laurent Dauphin and Xavier Ouellet.
Why are we telling you about this? Because with the huge volume of signings and departures we had yesterday, few teams took the time to thank their (now) former players.
The goal here is not to blame them, but to salute the great class of the Montreal Canadiens organization.
While most teams didn't take the time to greet and congratulate their players who signed elsewhere (even the big names), the Habs did so for all their players, including Laurent Dauphin and Xavier Ouellet, who are now with the Arizona Coyotes and Pittsburgh Penguins respectively, after yesterday's signings.
Check out the result:
"Laurent Dauphin is a hard-working, persistent and nice guy. We wish him the best for the future with the Coyotes!" - Montreal Canadiens
"Thanks to Xavier Ouellet, a leader, the captain of the Rocket and a guy with a great work ethic. Good luck with the Penguins!" - Montreal Canadiens
Very nice gesture by the Canadiens!
