We told you about it yesterday, but it is now officially announced by the Montreal Canadiens organization: Samuel Montembeault has had surgery and will be ready for the next training camp. (if he signs a new contract with the Habs)
"Canadiens general manager Kent Hughes announced Monday that goalie Sam Montembeault underwent surgery on his right wrist on May 6. The surgery was performed by Dr. Robert Hotchkiss at the Hospital for Special Surgery in New York.
He should be fully recovered and ready for the start of training camp in September." - Montreal Canadiens
It also confirms a persistent rumor for the past few weeks. Sam was playing injured and he did a solid job of holding down the fort regardless (At a time when Montreal really needed him)
Hats off to him!
More details to follow!
