Earlier today, we mentioned that Kirby Dach was Kent Hughes' plan B for the draft. Basically, Kent Hughes had in his sights probably the seventh pick, the one that belonged to the Ottawa Senators, and that he intended to use this pick to acquire a certain Pierre-Luc Dubois from the Winnipeg Jets.
It seems that Hughes is not done with his idea of acquiring Dubois yet. According to Martin Leclerc of Radio-Canada, negotiations are still ongoing with the Winnipeg Jets to acquire the Quebec center.
I'm told that the Habs are still working with the Winnipeg Jets in order to conclude a deal that would bring Pierre-Luc Dubois to Montreal on a long-term basis. The talks almost came to fruition in last week's draft.
With a center line of Dubois, Suzuki, Dach and Evans, the rebuild could be quicker than expected. -Martin Leclerc
On Monday night, on 91.9 Sports, Renaud Lavoie mentioned that a transaction had been concluded at the draft by Kent Hughes and that it would be announced before the opening of free agency market on Wednesday. Is this the deal?
