In the last few minutes, the Vancouver Canucks announced they have placed former first-round draft pick and former Montreal Canadiens player, Noah Juulsen, on waivers.
Judging by comments, Canucks fans seem surprised by this announcement, especially since Juulsen was having some good moments, particularly defensively, before getting injured for Vancouver.
He is making the NHL minimum salary ($750,000), is 26 years old, and is now available for free.
Additionally, he is a right-handed defenseman who was the 26th overall pick.
Do you think he will be claimed? He could be a good depth defenseman for a team that will be in the playoffs in a few days!
This is a nice little gift from the Canucks, who did not need to put him on waivers since the trade deadline has passed.
«General manager Patrik Allvin announced today that defenseman Noah Juulsen has been placed on waivers for the purpose of being assigned to Abbotsford (AHL).» - Canucks de Vancouver
It will be interesting to know the verdict as early as tomorrow.
