Successful acquisition by the Montreal Canadiens and Kent Hughes which will be a solid steal: the young right-handed defenseman Bogdan Konyushkov honored
After the 2022 Draft, Lane Hutson was quickly identified as a successful steal by the Montreal Canadiens.
After the most recent 2023 Draft, a new name seems to consistently come up in this discussion, and it's still making headlines today.
We are talking about Bogdan Konyushkov, who has just achieved a great feat by being named once again as the best defenseman of the entire KHL in this third week of activities for them.
To accomplish this at just 20 years old is indeed no small feat.
Konyushkov was drafted in the 4th round (110th pick) by the Canadiens in the last draft, imagine.
And the organization's experts saw him going in the second round.
One thing's for sure, if the draft were to happen again today, the young defenseman would go much earlier than the 110th rank.
Solid move for the Canadiens.
He has a very rare 6 points in 9 games this season in the KHL (25 points last season). Let's remember, for a young defenseman, it's extremely rare to be so productive in that league.
The numbers are historic for a 20-year-old. He plays nearly 30 minutes per game! A name to remember, and a choice that seems to be clearly successful for Montreal!
