Stan Bowman has stepped aside from his duties in Chicago

Stan Bowman has resigned from the Chicago Blackhawks, becoming the first domino to fall. Kyle Davidson, who was Bowman's right-hand man, will serve as interim general manager while the organization hires a new man.

We're just talking here, could Marc Bergevin go back to Chicago, where he learned his trade before taking over the Montreal Canadiens in 2012? Although if this statement from the franchise is any indication, it would be surprising if Bergevin is one of the candidates they would consider.

I remind you that Marc Bergevin was among the 139 people who were interviewed in the independent investigation requested by the organization about the case of a player who was a potential victim of sexual assault in the spring of 2010. However, he was completely cleared.

Danny and Rocky Wirtz, the owners of the Chicago Blackhawks franchise, appeared virtually this afternoon to deliver the findings regarding this sexual assault investigation... and then Bowman opted to resign (with good reason). The team eventually received a $2 million penalty...

In short, the 48-year-old had been with this organization (as GM) since July 14, 2009, but he joined it in the early 2000s as director of operations. He leaves Chicago with three big Stanley Cup rings (2010, 2013 and 2015).

But he is leaving because of that infamous case of sexual misconduct allegations by the team's former video coach, Bradley Aldrich...
