St-Louis announces that Denis Gurianov will not be part of the warm-up period tonight
During a press conference in the last few moments, the head coach of the Montreal Canadiens, Martin St-Louis, announced this:
"Denis Gurianov will not wear the pride jersey during the warm-up period. He is doing this for family reasons, and for the safety of his family in Russia." - Renaud Lavoie, TVA Sports
"Gurianov will not take part in the warm-up period on Pride Night for family reasons. There are fears of reprisals at home." - Marc Antoine Godin
St-Louis explained that he is not in Gurianov's shoes and cannot judge the repercussions of his choice.
St-Louis, however, insisted that this is an extremely important day for the organization, that it will be a beautiful evening, and he absolutely invites everyone to celebrate it.
