Serge Savard, one of the greats in the history of the Montreal Canadiens, as both a player and a leader, is not involved in the Habs' current hiring process. I remind you that in 2012, he accompanied Geoff Molson through this process.
That said, the Senator, via the airwaves of 98.5 Sports, has spoken about the next general manager. The 75-year-old is in tune with the thinking of several specialists: if Jeff Gorton had spoken French, the Canadiens would not be looking for a GM at this time.
«It's just because we're giving titles there Hockey Vice President. The general manager, he's already hired. It's (Jeff) Gorton. Since we hired a unilingual anglophone An American Basically, to appease the public, we are saying: our new general manager, he will be a francophone and we will appoint him soon.»
That's exactly it! Who really has something to add? The next GM will be a qualified, of course, but he will not be fully in control of the numbers and movements to be carried out.
