Late Monday afternoon, the Montreal Canadiens and the Arizona Coyotes will have a battle worthy of the bottom of the standings. Recall that the two teams are ranked 31st and 32nd in the NHL's overall standings.

Dominique Ducharme opted for the status quo at practice on Sunday afternoon, on the eve of a duel in the desert.

So it's the same combinations as in yesterday's practice.

Tyler Toffoli, Lukas Vejdemo and Cedric Paquette are still wearing the blue jerseys, reserved for players who practice without contact.

Alexander Romanov, obviously, did not understand this principle. During a battle for the puck against Cedric Paquette (blue jersey), Romanov "shuffled the cage" of the Quebecer, and this, with much more conviction than the client asked for, according to journalist Marc-André Perreault.

It was probably not ill-intentioned on Romanov's part, considering his competitive instinct. The desire to win took the disappointed man for a few seconds, which didn't seem to bother Paquette.

As for Paul Byron, he will need a few more intensive workouts before joining his teammates out west. He won't be able to play in Arizona and Dallas, but he could probably head to the Vice City in a few days to face the Vegas Golden Knights.

To be continued...
